Hotels in and Near Kypseli

Raddison Blu Hotel, AthensKypseli has several inexpensive hotels and apartments and offers a nice alternative for people who would like to stay in a typical Athenian neighborhood rather than in the center of Athens. Because of the excellent bus and electric trolley service it is so easy to get downtown from here. The Victory Inn is a small  hotel right in the heart of Kypseli a short walk from Fokionos Negri and right in the center of the laiki agora (farmers market) every Thursday. It is also just a couple blocks from Platia Agia Georgiou, Odos Kypseli (where the buses go downtown every 5 minutes) and a 10 minute walk to Patission Street. The Archaeological Museum is a 15 minute walk. The Nicola Hotel is a quiet, friendly hotel offering free parking and free Wi-Fi, right by Park Dikastirion and maybe a 15 minute walk from Fokionos Negri and from the National Archaeological Museum. The Hotel Exis near Platia Amerikis, just a couple blocks from the bottom of Fokinos Negri is a converted mansion that has been turned into an elegant boutige hotel. For those looking for a 5-star hotel with a swimming pool, restaurant and amazing views, the Raddison Blue Park Hotel(photo) overlooks Pedion Areos, the largest park in Athens and is just a ten minute walk from Kypseli. Zorbas Hostel is between Pedion Areos and Victory Square and offers private rooms and dormitory beds.

Athens City ApartmentThe Athens City Apartment (photo) is a beautiful modern apartment right off Platia Kanaris (Kypseli Square) and half a block from Fokionos Negri. Athens City Suites is located near the Athens Courts, a 10 minute walk to Fokionos Negri. The Athens City Hotel is located on Patission Street near Platia Amerikis and is on the route of many of the buses and trolleys that will take you right downtown. It is about a 10 minute walk to Fokionos Negri. The Semeli Hotel is just a block from the restaurants and cafes of Fokionos Negri and a block from Patission Street. If you want to go further up the mountain there are several apartments with nice views and other amenities, for example Pool and View which is listed as a villa and does weekly rentals and as the name says, has a pool and a view of all of Athens.

Bus to KypseliFor those who are staying in downtown Athens a visit to Kypseli is pretty easy just as a visit to downtown Athens is easy from Kypselis. If you are staying at the Hotel Attalos on Athinas street you can just cross the street and take the 035 bus right to Platia Kypseli which is the top of Fokionos Negri. To get back you can catch it on its return trip by crossing Kypseli Street and walking two blocks to Kerkyras street. From Syntagma Square you can take the 2,4 or 9 trolley in front of the park or walk down Panapistimiou and all three buses will take you to Platia Kypseli and back. The 5,7,11 and 13 trolleys go up Patission and you can get off at Agiou Melitiou or Platia Amerikis and walk to the bottom of Fokionos. If you take the metro to Victoria you can walk up Heyden one short block to Patission and its about 10 blocks to Agio Meletiou and Fokionos. The easiest way of course is to just take a taxi to either Platia Kypseli or Fokionos Negri and it will cost you all of five euros from pretty much anywhere downtown. See more hotels in Athens
