The center of the Kypseli community is the old Demotiki Agora. The city wanted to tear oit down to build a parking deck but the people of Kypseli occupied it and stopped them. Now it's a community center with events, free Greek lessons for immigrants, a cafe, library, art gallery, dances and more. This was the market where Benji stole the sausages in the film For The Love of Benji. On Saturday it is an organice produce market.
