RAILWAY STATIONS IN ATHENS

There are two railway stations. Larissa and Peloponnissos R.S. From Larissa R.S one can take the trains to Northern Greece. From Peloponnissos R.S one can take the trains to Southern Greece and O.S.E buses abroad.

LARISSA Railway Station: To get there one can take the trolley bus no.1 from Venizelou (Panepistimiou) Str., as well as the "METRO" Line 2 "Syntagma->Sepolia"

PELOPONNISSOS Railway Station: To get there one can take bus No 057 from Venizelou (Panepistimiou) Str. (from 05.30 to 23.30 every 15'). Fare:0.45 euro, as well as the "METRO" Line 2 "Syntagma->Sepolia"

REDUCTIONS GRANTED BY THE HELLENIC RAILWAYS ORGANISATION (O.S.E.)

1. TOURIST CARDS
They are issued to individual passengers, families and groups up to 5 persons.
They are valid for 10 or 20 or 30 days and entitle the holder to make an unlimited number of travels on every route served by the railway (2nd class) and CH buses.
The price of the card, depending on the number of passengers and the duration of validity, runs as follows:

2.SENIOR CARDS
They are issud to passengers over 60 years of age upon presentation of their identity cards or passports.

Senior Citizen Card - 25%
This card costs 16,10 euro and offers a reduction of 25% for journeys within a year.

Senior Citizen Card
These travelcards cost:
second class: 54,88 euro and
first class: 82,47 euro

For people over 60 years, they offer:

  • either a reduction of 50% for all rail journeys in Greece and
  • 5 free trips
