Pireaus Hotels

There are a lot of hotels in Pireaus, some old "favorites" that have been renovated and some new ones too. I have listed those within walking distance of the port and the metro at the very top of the page for their convenience. You can catch the X96 bus to and from the airport to Pireaus, and you can take the metro and the Proastiakos (Suburban Railway) though you may have to change trains. But for those of you who want to be close to the ferries you will find this page useful. Keep in mind that you can also stay in any hotel in downtown Athens that is close to the metro and be in Pireaus in about 15 minutes or take a taxi right to the boat instead of walking from your hotel or the metro to the ferry dragging your luggage. The Pireaus hotels that are further away may offer a shuttle or some kind of service to and from the ferries and the metro but if not you can always ask them to call a taxi. Remember that just because a hotel says it is close to the ferry port that does not mean it is close to your ferry. But luckily there is a Piraeus port shuttle bus so as long as you know which gate your ferry is at (it says on your ticket), you should be able to figure out where to get off. Piraeus Theoxenia Hotel

The only 5-star deluxe hotel in Piraeus, this hotel is a modern landmark building, set on a prestigious block in the business district. The area provides excellent transport links with the train station and metro nearby connecting the hotel with the airport and city centre. There are cultural attractions in close proximity to the hotel, though if you are just staying here to catch an early boat that probably won't matter to you. Each spacious room is tastefully decorated, features a distinctive design and includes high-speed internet access. The interiors combine elements of Neoclassical architecture with the latest designs. It also offers conference rooms with capacities ranging from 30 to 300 people. Housing stylish, comfortable and contemporary accommodation, this is a unique residence with a sense of elegance. The hotel is a member of the Great Hotels of the World. Of the hotels listed here the Theoxenia is the furthest walk to the boat, maybe ten minutes, but if you are staying here you will probably take a taxi anyway. It is also close to the cruise terminal. Piraeus City Hotel

Located in the centre of Piraeus, the hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the metro station, and about a 5 minute walk to the Dodecanese ferries and the Saronic ferries and maybe ten minutes to the Cyclades boats. For the boats to Crete you may want to use the shuttle. Based on the needs of today’s most discerning traveler, it offers all necessary technological equipment. The Park Hotel Piraeus

The Park Hotel, (former Best Western) has been fulfilling the needs of local and international visitors successfully for more than 30 years and though the reviews are not as good as other hotels on this page it is very convenient to the ferries and cruise terminal (though quite a hike from the metro station). It is located in the centre of Piraeus, on Terpsitheas Square. In this hotel, you can organise meetings, seminars and presentations for up to 150 individuals or you can just use it as a convenient place to stay so you can catch the ferry or the X96 bus to the airport. Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free. Triton Hotel Piraeus

After a radical renewal, this hotel is an ideal destination for a pleasant stay, offering its guests luxury in a warm family atmosphere near the local amenities. There is immediate access to the islands via the nearby port and the market, the banks and public services are all in the vicinity. The hotel is also only a few (hundred) metres from the train station, hospital, Piraeus' cathedral of Agia Triada, a catholic church and the local bazaar. Achillion Hotel Piraeus

Located in Central Piraeus, Achillion Hotel Piraeus is just a 5-minute walk from Piraeus Port and less than a 10-minute walk from the urban railway station of Piraeus (Metro Line 1). It offers a 24-hour front desk, a breakfast room and accommodations with air conditioning. Free WiFi is available in all areas. Featuring an LCD TV and a telephone, all rooms at Achillion are spacious and simply furnished. All rooms offer a private bathroom with a shower. Several shops and restaurants are accessible within short walking distance. The port’s main departure gate for Cyclades Islands is only 1,000 feet away. The center of Athens is at a distance of 6.8 mi. The stop of bus X96 connecting to Athens International Airport is just 650 feet away. Noufara

Located in the centre of the city of Piraeus, this hotel gets excellent ratings from guests and is conveniently located near all major public transport stations, exhibition centres and shopping areas and about 6 blocks from the ferries. Hotel Noufara has direct access to the harbour, which provides a gateway for your excursions to the Aegean Sea. Because of the hotel's location you have access to the service of professional shipping enterprises while it is also near the exhibition centre of O.L.P. and close to the commercial streets of Piraeus. In only a few metres, you can find the Municipal Theatre and Pasalimani, while all the historical monuments in the centre of Athens are only 10 km away. Located 200 metres from the port of Piraeus and the metro that takes you to the centre of Athens in 20 minutes, Argo Hotel offers convenience and a friendly welcome. All the rooms of Hotel Argo are air-conditioned and warmly decorated. Continental buffet breakfast is served from 06:00, and the bar is a nice place to relax with a drink. Its location makes Hotel Argo ideal for people travelling to the Greek islands. Free on-site parking and public bus service available from the airport to a stop near the hotel(bus X96). Delfini Hotel

Hotel Delfini is located near the port of Piraeus, and its staff promise a pleasant and enjoyable stay even though the reviews scores are lower than any hotel I would normally recommend. However it is so close to the ferry boats, basically across the street from them, that it would be tough to leave it off this list, especially since most people don't spend more than a night in Pireaus, which is survivable at just about any hotel. Its rooms are comfortable enough and decorated with simplicity and warm colours. More importantly the hotel is just a block from the Pireaus Metro Station and the bus station where you can catch the X96 to the airport. Acropole Hotel

Cheap, clean and convenient which is pretty much all you need if you are arriving late and leaving early and only staying one night. (In other words disregard any bad reviews because you won't be here long enough to care). Located in the centre of Piraeus in a completely renovated building a block from the ferryboats, this hotel offers a personalised service with staff always ready to help you make the most of your trip. Acropole Hotel offers excellent value-for-money in a homely environment. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and have their own refrigerator so you can return to a nice cool drink after a day walking the cobbled streets discovering archaeological sites. The hotel is superbly located for exploring the area as the metro is just a short walk away. This is probably the closest of all the hotels to both the metro, the ships and to the X96 airport bus, same distance as the Delfini but with better reviews. Glaros Hotel

Situated in the center of Piraeus, very close to the airport bus stop and the port, the recently renovated Glaros Hotel offers accommodations on a 12 month basis. The hotel has 40 guest rooms with balcony overlooking the port. Here, guests can enjoy comfortable accommodations with free internet connection and minibar. The hotel’s well-trained staff, available all through the day,can assist guests with baggage storage, exchange currency or tourist information. Faros I is located in the centre of the port city of Piraeus. The extensive experience in the hotel industry by the owners of the Faros II Hotel has enabled them to construct a hotel considered a jewel of Piraeus, (at least as far as 2-Star hotels go), with the aim of provide excellent service and pleasant accommodation. Situated a few minutes journey from city centre and a few steps from the port, every means of transport is at your doorstep. All 27 rooms have bathroom, air conditioning, colour TV, mini fridge and telephone. Most rooms have a balcony. The main characteristics are reasonable prices and a family atmosphere. Electra Hotel

A decent hotel in an excellent location for people who need a place for one night after arriving or before departing, the Electra Hotel is just 50 feet from the port and central train station. It features air-conditioned rooms and free Wi-Fi in public areas of the property. Electra’s guestrooms are soundproof and furnished with simple wood furniture. Each offers a TV and mini fridge. Complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer stock the bathroom. Conveniently within 1,300 feet from a bus stop, Electra Hotel’s is a 20-minute bus ride to the center of Athens and its major sites. Piraeus Port Hotel

Piraeus Port Hotel is just a short walk away from Piraeus Metro Station and main port. About 5 blocks actually, depending on where your ferry is leaving from, but this is one of the best hotels in Piraeus so if you have to walk an extra block or two does it really matter? Shops, numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and taverns are only a few minutes away. Piraeus Port Hotel offers a rich American buffet style breakfast, it features an on-site bar and restaurant, while guests can use free WiFi in all areas. All air-conditioned rooms are fitted with parquet floors and feature a flat-screen TV, a fridge, a safe box and a kettle with coffee/tea facilities. But with a free shuttle service to the ferry and cruise terminal it hardly matters and this may be the best hotel in the city, with elegant rooms with free WiFi. A handy smartphone for unlimited international and local calls, as well as unlimited mobile data is offered to guests. The hotel’s private shuttle provides guests with free transfer to and from the port of Piraeus, to the X96 bus stop (airport bus line) and the railway station. Phidias Hotel offers bright and spacious guestrooms with private bathrooms. Each air-conditioned unit is well equipped with work desk, comfortable beds and smart TV with internet access. Set in Piraeus, 1.8 mi from Flisvos Beach, The Alex offers accommodations with a bar, private parking and a terrace. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and room service, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar. The units come with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a kettle, a bidet, a hairdryer and a desk. All rooms feature a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries.
