The fruit and vegetable market is across Athinas Street from the Meat and Fish Markets. It sits on top of one of the big Athens parking garages.
There is a sort of pavillion with a cafe and they put some plants and trees and hoped to make it like a park where people would want to go.
But it did not work out and only attracted drug addicts who like to go where people will leave them alone. You don't have to be afraid.
If they are up there it is because they have their drugs and they are happy. The area is safe in the day but a few blocks down towards Pireos Street is not a place I recommend going at night.
Isn't it interesting how I was able to juxtapose fruits and vegetables with drugs and crime in Athens?
